Interested in learning about viniculture, grape varieties & regions? We share our knowledge and experience of different grapes, discuss the merits of the various wines, and compare and contrast the different grape varieties and tasting experiences with a variety of nibbles between tastings.
There will be six monthly groups, four in members homes in West Hove (27 September, 25 October and 29 November), Hangleton (11 October, 8 November and 13 December), Preston Park (28 September, 2 November and 7 December) and Goldstone (28 September and 9 and 30 November) and two at The Vale Community Centre, Brighton (3 and 4 October, 1 and 2 November and 6 and 7 December). All meetings start at 18:30.
A wide range of white, red and occasionally sparkling wines will be tendered for tastings, from old and new world sources with both well known and obscure grape varieties to tempt the palette. There will be a contribution of £4 per session, towards the cost of refreshments, etc.
Autumn term tastings will include Hungarian/Austrian/East European wines, Loire wines and sparkling wines.
